Versioning

URL-Based Versioning​

The BlockWyre API uses URL-based versioning. The version is specified as part of the URL path:

/api/v2/resource

All current endpoints use v2. When breaking changes are introduced, a new version will be released under a new URL prefix (e.g., /api/v3/).

Backward Compatibility​

Within a version, the API maintains backward compatibility:

  • New fields may be added to responses without a version bump.
  • New optional query parameters or request fields may be added.
  • Existing fields, endpoints, and behavior will not change.

Deprecation Policy​

  • Advance notice is given before deprecating older API versions.
  • Deprecated versions remain available for a transition period before being removed.
